Description
A classic Paula Deen Peach Cobbler recipe that's incredibly simple and comforting. Features a sweet, juicy peach filling with a golden, cake-like topping that bakes up magically around the fruit. Perfect for using fresh, frozen, or canned peaches.
Ingredients
Scale
1 cup Butter
4–5 cups sliced peaches
2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup milk
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp ground cinnamo
1 pinch salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Melt butter in a 9×13 inch baking dish by placing it in the preheating ove
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt. Gradually stir in milk until smooth
- In another bowl, gently toss peach slices with 1 cup sugar (and cinnamon if using)
- Carefully remove hot dish with melted butter from oven. Pour batter evenly over melted butter (do not stir)
- Spoon sweetened peaches and their juices evenly over the batter
- Bake for 45-55 minutes until top is golden brown and edges are bubbling
Notes
Do not stir the butter and batter together – this is key for texture.
Let cobbler cool for 15-20 minutes before serving to allow filling to thicken.
Can use frozen peaches directly without thawing; may need extra baking time.
