Ingredients
1.5 lbs Ground turkey (93/7)
1 cup Sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
2 tbsp Fresh jalapeño, minced (seeds removed)
0.25 cup Breadcrumbs (or almond flour)
1 large Egg
1 tsp Garlic powder
To taste Salt and black pepper
6–8 leaves Large lettuce leaves (romaine or butter lettuce)
Instructions
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat
- In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, shredded cheddar, minced jalapeño, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently
- Form the mixture into 6 patties
- Grill patties for 5-6 minutes per side, until internal temperature reaches 165°F
- Let patties rest for 2 minutes
- Wrap each patty in a large lettuce leaf and serve immediately
Notes
Do not overmix the meat mixture to avoid tough burgers.
Use a meat thermometer for perfect doneness.
Sturdy lettuce like butter lettuce works best.
Store leftover patties separately from lettuce; reheat in skillet or air fryer (do not microwave).
Uncooked patties can be frozen; thaw overnight before grilling.
