1.5 lbs Ground beef (80/20 lean)
1 medium Yellow onion, finely grated
0.5 cup Fresh parsley, finely chopped
1 tsp Allspice
1 tsp Salt
0.5 tsp Black pepper
1 tbsp Olive oil (for cooking)


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, grated onion, chopped parsley, allspice, salt, and black pepper
  2. Gently mix the ingredients with your hands until just combined; avoid overmixing
  3. Form the mixture into small, oblong patties, about 2-3 inches long. Do this until you use all the kofta mixture
  4. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat
  5. Cook the kofta patties for 3-4 minutes per side, or until beautifully browned and cooked through. Serve immediately

Notes

Do not overmix the meat mixture; overmixing can make your kofta tough. Gentle handling ensures tender kofta.

Wet your hands slightly when forming the patties; this prevents the meat from sticking and makes shaping easier.
