Description

Every single time I make this Honey Garlic Ground Turkey Recipe, my three kids come running into the kitchen. The sweet, savory aroma fills our whole house. I love that this dish comes together in one skillet. It’s perfect for those chaotic weeknights. You get a sticky, flavorful sauce without loads of sugar. This Honey Garlic Ground Turkey Recipe has truly become a lifesaver in our home. It feels indulgent, yet it uses simple, nourishing ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb Ground turkey (93/7 lean)
3 tbsp Honey
3 tbsp Low-sodium soy sauce (or tamari)
4 large Garlic cloves (minced)
1 tsp Fresh ginger (grated)
1 tbsp Rice vinegar
1 tbsp Sesame oil
3 Green onions (sliced for garnish)
0.5 tsp Red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sesame oil
  2. Add the ground turkey to the hot skillet. Break it up with a spatula. Cook for 5-6 minutes until browned
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, and rice vinegar
  5. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the cooked turkey. Stir well to coat everything
  6. Let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes. It will thicken and become glossy
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning. Garnish with sliced green onions
  8. Serve immediately over your favorite base

Notes

Use 93% lean ground turkey for best texture.

Don’t overcook the turkey; keep it moist.

Grate your ginger finely for even flavor.

Let the sauce bubble to thicken properly.

Taste before adding extra salt.

Always use low-sodium soy sauce to control salt levels.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.

Reheat gently in a skillet or microwave; add a splash of water if sauce thickens.

Freeze for up to 3 months; thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.

Can be made ahead; flavors meld and taste even better the next day.

For gluten-free, use tamari instead of soy sauce.

Reduce honey to 2 tablespoons and add more soy sauce to make it less sweet.
