Description
This Garlic Butter Melting Cabbage transforms a humble vegetable into something craveable, tender, and absolutely delicious. It's simple to make, yet it feels special. The garlic infuses every layer, making it deeply flavorful, and it's naturally low-carb and gluten-free.
Ingredients
1 head Green cabbage (large)
4 tablespoons Unsalted butter
4–5 cloves Garlic (minced)
0.5 cup Chicken or vegetable broth
0.5 teaspoon Salt
0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
2 tablespoons Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
Instructions
- Cut the cabbage into 1-inch thick rounds. Keep the core intact so the wedges hold together
- Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place cabbage wedges in the pan. Sear for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brow
- Reduce heat to medium. Add minced garlic and remaining butter. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Carefully pour in the broth
- Cover the skillet with a lid. Let the cabbage simmer for 10-12 minutes. The cabbage should be fork-tender when done
- Season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle fresh parsley on top. Serve warm
Notes
Use a large skillet so the cabbage wedges fit in one layer.
Keep the lid on tightly while simmering for perfectly tender cabbage.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
Reheat in a skillet over medium heat, adding a splash of broth if needed.
Freezing is not recommended as texture changes.
