  • Author: NATALIA
  • Total Time: 34 minutes
  • Yield: 16 brownies (one 8x8-inch pan)
  • Diet: Vegetarian, Gluten-Free (with gluten-free protein powder and cocoa powder), High-Protein

Description

Rich, chocolatey fudgy protein brownies made in one bowl with ripe bananas, chocolate protein powder, almond butter, and dark chocolate chips. These kid-approved brownies bake in under 25 minutes, freeze beautifully, and deliver real protein without a chalky taste.

Ingredients

  • Ripe bananas – 2 medium
  • Chocolate protein powder – 1/2 cup
  • Cocoa powder – 1/4 cup
  • Eggs – 2 large
  • Almond butter – 1/3 cup
  • Maple syrup – 2 tablespoons
  • Baking powder – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Dark chocolate chips – 1/3 cup
  • Pinch of salt – 1 pinch

Instructions

  • 1. 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease an 8×8 baking pan.
  • 2. 2. Mash the bananas in a large bowl. Add the eggs, almond butter, and maple syrup. Whisk until smooth.
  • 3. 3. Stir in the protein powder, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • 4. 4. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • 5. 5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  • 6. 6. Bake for 20 to 24 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs. Do not overbake.
  • 7. 7. Cool the brownies completely before slicing for the fudgiest texture.

Notes

Pro Tips: Use very ripe bananas for natural sweetness. Sift your protein powder to avoid clumps. Don’t overbake; pull them out while the center still looks slightly soft. Let cool fully for the fudgiest texture. Roughly chop the chocolate chips for melty pockets.

Substitutions: Swap almond butter for peanut butter; use vanilla protein powder if preferred; add chopped walnuts for crunch; for dairy-free/vegan, use plant-based protein powder and flax eggs.

Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 2 days, refrigerate for up to 1 week, or freeze individual brownies for up to 3 months. Reheat a frozen brownie in the microwave for 20 seconds.

Serving Ideas: Serve with cold milk, Greek yogurt, fresh strawberries, crumbled over vanilla ice cream, or with coffee. Sodium content is estimated.
