Description
These Easy Chocolate Crinkle Cookies are a soft, fudgy, brownie-like cookie with a classic crackly powdered sugar top. Made with basic pantry staples and no chilling required, they are perfect for holiday baking with kids.
Ingredients
1 cup All-purpose flour
1/2 cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon Baking powder
1/4 teaspoon Salt
3/4 cup Granulated sugar
1/3 cup Vegetable oil
2 Large eggs
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
1/2 cup Powdered sugar (for rolling)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
- Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl
- In a separate large bowl, whisk together sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla until smooth
- Pour dry ingredients into wet ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix
- Place powdered sugar in a small bowl. Scoop tablespoon-sized dough balls and roll generously in powdered sugar
- Place dough balls 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes; centers should look slightly underdone
- Let cookies cool on sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Serve warm or at room temperature
Notes
Do not skip rolling in powdered sugar; it creates the classic crinkle look.
Use a cookie scoop for uniform size and even baking.
Watch bake time carefully; overbaking makes cookies dry.
For deeper chocolate flavor, use Dutch-process cocoa powder.
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. Freeze for up to 2 months.
Reheat in microwave for 10 seconds for fresh-baked taste.
