Easy BBQ Chicken Flatbread Recipe: a quick, cheesy, and smoky flatbread made with shredded chicken, BBQ sauce, and melty cheeses, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

2 large Pre-made flatbreads (naan or pita works)
2 cups Cooked, shredded chicken (rotisserie is perfect)
½ cup Your favorite BBQ sauce
1 cup Shredded mozzarella cheese
½ cup Shredded cheddar cheese
½ small Red onion, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons Fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
  2. Mix the chicken. In a small bowl, toss the shredded chicken with ¼ cup of BBQ sauce. Ensure every piece is coated well
  3. Assemble the flatbreads. Place the flatbreads on the prepared baking sheet. Spread a thin layer of the remaining BBQ sauce over each one
  4. Add the toppings. Sprinkle half the mozzarella and cheddar over the sauce. Distribute the BBQ chicken evenly. Top with the remaining cheese and red onion slices
  5. Bake until bubbly. Place the sheet in the oven for 10-12 minutes. The cheese should melt completely and start to brown. The edges of the flatbread will crisp
  6. Finish and serve. Remove from the oven. Let it cool for 2 minutes. Sprinkle with fresh cilantro. Slice and serve immediately

Notes

Do not overload the flatbread with toppings to avoid sogginess.

Use a high-quality BBQ sauce you love as it's the star flavor.

For extra crispiness, bake flatbreads directly on the oven rack.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Reheat in a 350°F oven for 5-7 minutes or in an air fryer at 350°F for 3 minutes.
