Description
A juicy, fast, and family-friendly Double Cheeseburger recipe with two thin beef patties, melted American cheese, and all the classic fixings, perfect for a fun and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
1 lb Ground beef (80/20)
4 slices American cheese
2 Hamburger buns
1 tbsp Butter
To taste Salt
To taste Black pepper
As needed Pickles
As needed Ketchup
As needed Mustard
Instructions
- Divide the beef into four equal balls. Flatten each into thin patties (about ¼ inch thick). Season both sides with salt and pepper. Make a small dent in the center of each patty to prevent puffing
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add butter. Cook two patties for 3 minutes per side. Place one cheese slice on each patty. Cover the pan for 30 seconds until cheese melts. Remove and repeat with remaining two patties
- Split buns in half. Toast them in the skillet for about 1 minute until golde
- Assemble the burger: Spread ketchup and mustard on the bottom bun. Place one cheesy patty, then some pickles. Top with another cheesy patty. Cover with the top bun. Press gently and serve immediately
Notes
Don't overwork the meat; loose patties make a tender burger.
Let the pan get hot before cooking for a perfect sear.
Always toast buns to avoid sogginess.
For extra juiciness, add a splash of Worcestershire sauce to the beef.
Store leftover patties in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in a hot skillet for 2 minutes; toast fresh buns. Avoid the microwave.
