Description
Crispy Parmesan Asparagus Fries are a fun and crunchy baked side dish that rivals traditional fries, made with fresh asparagus coated in panko and Parmesan.
Ingredients
Scale
1 lb Fresh Asparagus (trimmed)
1 cup Panko Breadcrumbs
1/2 cup Grated Parmesa
1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
Salt to taste
Black Pepper to taste
2 tbsp Olive Oil or Avocado Oil
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
- Trim the woody ends off the asparagus. Pat the spears completely dry with a towel
- Combine panko, Parmesan, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a shallow bowl
- Drizzle the oil over the asparagus. Toss gently to coat each spear
- Working in batches, roll each oiled spear in the panko mixture. Press firmly so the coating sticks
- Place the coated asparagus fries on the prepared baking sheet. Do not overcrowd them
- Bake for 10-12 minutes. Flip them halfway through for even browning
- Watch for a golden, crispy exterior. Serve immediately while hot
Notes
Pat the asparagus completely dry before coating to ensure maximum crispiness.
Do not overcrowd the baking sheet; give each fry space to get crunchy.
For best results, serve fresh from the oven; avoid microwaving leftovers.
To reheat, use oven or air fryer at 375°F for about 5 minutes.
