Description
A sweet, tangy, and perfectly crunchy tofu dish that’s a weeknight hero, entirely plant-based and quick to make.
Ingredients
1 block (14-16 oz) Extra-firm tofu
3 tablespoons Cornstarch
2 tablespoons Olive oil
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons Honey (or maple syrup)
1 tablespoon Soy sauce
1 teaspoon Garlic powder
To taste Salt & pepper
Instructions
- Press the tofu block for 15 minutes to remove excess water
- Cut tofu into bite-sized cubes
- Toss cubes with cornstarch, salt, and pepper
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat
- Cook tofu until golden and crispy on all sides
- Whisk together mustard, honey, soy sauce, and garlic powder
- Pour sauce over crispy tofu in the pa
- Toss gently to coat every piece evenly
- Cook for 1 more minute. Serve immediately
Notes
Substitute maple syrup for honey to make vegan, or Dijon for spicy brown mustard. Add cayenne for heat.
For gluten-free, use tamari or coconut aminos instead of soy sauce.
Can also bake for oil-free version or use an air fryer.
Store leftovers in airtight container up to 4 days; reheat in skillet or air fryer; avoid microwaving.
