Crispy Honey Mustard Tofu

Description

A sweet, tangy, and perfectly crunchy tofu dish that’s a weeknight hero, entirely plant-based and quick to make.


Ingredients

Scale

1 block (14-16 oz) Extra-firm tofu
3 tablespoons Cornstarch
2 tablespoons Olive oil
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons Honey (or maple syrup)
1 tablespoon Soy sauce
1 teaspoon Garlic powder
To taste Salt & pepper


Instructions

  1. Press the tofu block for 15 minutes to remove excess water
  2. Cut tofu into bite-sized cubes
  3. Toss cubes with cornstarch, salt, and pepper
  4. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat
  5. Cook tofu until golden and crispy on all sides
  6. Whisk together mustard, honey, soy sauce, and garlic powder
  7. Pour sauce over crispy tofu in the pa
  8. Toss gently to coat every piece evenly
  9. Cook for 1 more minute. Serve immediately

Notes

Substitute maple syrup for honey to make vegan, or Dijon for spicy brown mustard. Add cayenne for heat.

For gluten-free, use tamari or coconut aminos instead of soy sauce.

Can also bake for oil-free version or use an air fryer.

Store leftovers in airtight container up to 4 days; reheat in skillet or air fryer; avoid microwaving.
