Description

These easy buttery crescent-wrapped mummy dogs are a fun, kid-friendly meal or snack. Made with hot dogs wrapped in flaky, buttery crescent dough, they are quick to prepare, versatile, and perfect for weeknights, special occasions, or Halloween.

Kids love helping to wrap them, making mealtime a memorable activity.

Ingredients

  • Pillsbury Refrigerated Crescent Dinner Rolls: 1 (8-ounce) can
  • Hot dogs (all-beef recommended): 8
  • Butter, unsalted (melted): 2 tablespoons
  • Mustard or edible candy eyes (optional, for decoration): As desired

Instructions

1. 1. Preheat Oven & Prep Rolls: First, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Then, unroll the crescent dough onto a clean surface. Separate it into triangles.

2. 2. Cut Dough Strips: Next, use a pizza cutter or knife to cut each triangle lengthwise into 3 thin strips. You will have 24 strips total.

3. 3. Wrap Hot Dogs: Carefully wrap one strip of dough around each hot dog, starting at one end and spiraling around to the other. Leave a small gap at one end for the “face” of your hot dog mummies. The wrapping does not need to be perfect; unevenness adds to the mummy effect!

4. 4. Brush with Butter: Arrange the wrapped hot dogs on an ungreased baking sheet. Brush the tops of the crescent-wrapped mummy dogs generously with melted butter. This gives them that irresistible golden, buttery finish.

5. 5. Bake: Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescent dough turns golden brown and the hot dogs are heated through.

6. 6. Decorate (Optional): Remove the buttery crescent-wrapped mummy dogs from the oven. Let them cool slightly. Use mustard or edible candy eyes to create faces on the “head” part of each mummy dog. Serve immediately.
