Description

Every single Friday, my kitchen smells like a diner. I stand over the stove, and my three kids gather around, peeking at the sizzling patties. This isn’t just dinner. It is our ritual. It is the taste of a perfect Beef Cheeseburger. I have tried hundreds of burger recipes. This one is the winner. It is simple, juicy, and absolutely foolproof.

Ingredients

Scale

1.5 lbs Ground beef (80/20)
4 slices American cheese
4 Hamburger buns
To taste Salt & black pepper
2 tbsp Butter (for buns)
As needed Lettuce, tomato, onio

Instructions

  1. Divide the ground beef into 4 equal balls. Season them generously with salt and pepper
  2. Heat a cast iron skillet over high heat. Add a little oil
  3. Place the beef balls in the hot pan. Immediately smash them flat with a spatula
  4. Cook for 2-3 minutes without moving. Then, flip the patties
  5. Immediately place one slice of cheese on each patty. Cook for another minute
  6. Meanwhile, butter the buns and toast them in the pa
  7. Assemble your Beef Cheeseburger: add the patty, then top with lettuce, tomato, and onion. Serve immediately

Notes

Use 80/20 ground beef for juiciness.

Do not overwork the meat.

A hot pan is essential for crust.

Season right before cooking.

Never press down on the patty while cooking.

Let the burger rest for one minute before serving.

Toast the buns for a sturdier bite.

Store leftover patties separately in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Reheat patty in a hot skillet; do not use microwave.

Raw patties can be frozen with parchment paper between them for up to 3 months; thaw in fridge before cooking.
