Description

A simple, comforting, and incredibly moist banana bread recipe with Amish roots, perfect for using ripe bananas and creating a family tradition.


Ingredients

3 medium Ripe bananas
1/2 cup Unsalted butter, melted and cooled
1 cup Granulated sugar
2 large Eggs, room temperature
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups All-purpose flour
1 teaspoon Baking soda
1/2 teaspoon Salt


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pa
  2. Mash the bananas in a large bowl
  3. Stir in the melted butter
  4. Add the sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Mix until combined
  5. Fold in the flour, baking soda, and salt. Do not overmix
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pa
  7. Bake for 55-65 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clea
  8. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing

Notes

Use very ripe bananas (spotty) for the sweetest flavor.

Measure flour by spooning it into your cup and leveling it off.

Do not open the oven door during the first 45 minutes of baking.

Let the bread cool completely before slicing to prevent crumbling.

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, refrigerate for up to 1 week, or freeze wrapped tightly for up to 3 months.

To reheat, microwave a slice for 15 seconds to restore moisture.
