5-Minute Easy Fig Jam Recipe

  • Author: MEGAN
  • Total Time: 9 mins
  • Yield: 1 cup (approx. 8 servings of 2 tablespoons each) 1x
  • Diet: Gluten Free, Vegan

Description

A quick and easy fig jam made with just three ingredients: fresh figs, sugar, and lemon juice. Ready in minutes, no pectin needed. Perfect for spreading on toast or pairing with cheese.

Ingredients

Scale

2 cups Fresh figs, stemmed and chopped
0.5 cup Granulated sugar
1 tablespoon Fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Wash and stem figs. Chop them roughly into small, uniform pieces
  2. Place figs, sugar, and lemon juice in a saucepan. Stir well and let sit for 1 minute to release juices
  3. Heat over medium-high heat, stirring constantly. Bring to a rolling boil and cook for exactly 4 minutes. Do not overcook
  4. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Pour into a clean jar. Jam will set as it cools

Notes

For dried figs: soak in hot water for 15 minutes, drain, then chop and proceed.

Can substitute honey for sugar or add vanilla, cinnamon, or balsamic vinegar for variations.

Store in an airtight jar in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks, or freeze for up to 6 months.

Perform the wrinkle test: place a small spoonful on a cold plate; if it wrinkles when pushed, it's ready.
