Easy homemade sausage balls made without Bisquick—savory, cheesy, and perfect for parties, breakfasts, or snacking.
Ingredients
1 lb ground pork sausage (mild or spicy)
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
1/4 cup milk
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
3. Add shredded cheese and mix to coat in flour mixture.
4. Add sausage and melted butter. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
5. Gradually add milk as needed to bring the mixture together into a cohesive dough.
6. Form into 1-inch balls and place on the prepared baking sheet.
7. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
8. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Use freshly shredded cheese for better texture and binding.
Sausage balls can be made ahead and frozen raw or baked.
Serve with mustard, ranch, or spicy dipping sauce for extra flavor.
