Description
This pulp smoothie is a fiber-rich, zero-waste drink made from leftover juice pulp—blended with fruit, liquid, and a touch of sweetness for a refreshing and nutritious treat.
Ingredients
1/2 cup leftover fruit or vegetable pulp (e.g. carrot, apple, beet, or citrus)
1 banana, fresh or frozen
1/2 cup frozen berries or mango
1 cup milk or plant-based milk
1 tablespoon chia seeds or flaxseed (optional)
1–2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup (optional)
Ice (optional, for a colder smoothie)
Instructions
1. Add the pulp, banana, frozen fruit, and milk to a blender.
2. Add chia seeds or flaxseed and sweetener, if using.
3. Blend until smooth and creamy, about 30–60 seconds.
4. Add ice and blend again if a thicker, colder smoothie is desired.
5. Taste and adjust sweetness as needed.
6. Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately.
Notes
Great way to use up leftover juice pulp—carrot, beet, citrus, or apple work especially well.
Add protein powder or yogurt for a more filling smoothie.
Use within 24 hours for the freshest flavor and texture.
