Description
A fun, homemade version of the beloved pop tarts s’mores featuring a flaky pastry filled with chocolate and marshmallow, topped with rich chocolate glaze and graham cracker crumbs.
Ingredients
For the pastry:
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
6–8 tbsp ice water
For the filling:
1/2 cup marshmallow creme (Fluff)
1/2 cup chocolate chips or chopped chocolate, melted
For the topping:
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
1–2 tbsp milk
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Graham cracker crumbs, for garnish
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
2. Add ice water a tablespoon at a time until dough comes together. Divide in half, shape into disks, and chill for 30 minutes.
3. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out dough on floured surface and cut into equal 3×4-inch rectangles.
4. Place half the rectangles on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Spoon a little melted chocolate and marshmallow creme into the center of each.
5. Top with another rectangle and press edges with a fork to seal. Poke tops with a fork to vent.
6. Bake for 18–22 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool completely.
7. In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar, cocoa powder, milk, and vanilla to make glaze.
8. Spread glaze on each cooled tart and sprinkle with graham cracker crumbs.
9. Let glaze set before serving.
