Description

Soft and chewy oatmeal chocolate chip bars made with hearty oats, brown sugar, and melty chocolate chips an easy crowd-pleasing dessert or snack.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  • 1. Preheat the oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper
  • 2. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth
  • 3. Add eggs and vanilla extract and mix until fully combined
  • 4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt
  • 5. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture
  • 6. Fold in the rolled oats and chocolate chips
  • 7. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan
  • 8. Bake for 22โ€“28 minutes until set and lightly golden on top
  • 9. Allow to cool completely before slicing into bars

Notes

  • Do not overbake to keep the bars soft and chewy
  • You can add nuts or use dark chocolate chips if desired
