Description

An amazingly moist cinnamon apple fritter bread loaded with tender apples, swirls of cinnamon sugar, and finished with a sweet glaze for bakery-style flavor at home.


Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups apples, peeled and diced
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  • 1. Preheat the oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan
  • 2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt
  • 3. In a separate bowl, cream the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy
  • 4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in milk and vanilla extract
  • 5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients until just combined
  • 6. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon together
  • 7. Fold half of the apples into the batter
  • 8. Pour half of the batter into the loaf pan, sprinkle with half of the cinnamon sugar, and add remaining apples
  • 9. Spread remaining batter on top and finish with remaining cinnamon sugar
  • 10. Swirl gently with a knife
  • 11. Bake for 50โ€“60 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean
  • 12. Cool slightly, then drizzle with glaze made from powdered sugar and milk before slicing
