  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

  • 1. Add corn, potatoes, carrots, celery, onion, chicken broth, salt, pepper, paprika, thyme, and ham or bacon (if using) to the slow cooker.
  • 2. Stir well, then cover and cook on LOW for 6โ€“7 hours or HIGH for 3โ€“4 hours, until vegetables are tender.
  • 3. Stir in milk, heavy cream, and butter.
  • 4. Cover and cook an additional 20โ€“30 minutes until creamy and warmed through.
  • 5. Taste and adjust seasoning before serving.

Notes

  • For thicker chowder, mash a few potatoes in the pot before adding dairy.
  • Use half-and-half instead of cream for a lighter version.
