Description
A moist, cinnamon-swirled Amish apple fritter bread loaded with tender apples and finished with a sweet glaze easy and irresistible.

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 3/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 cups apples, peeled and chopped
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- 1. Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and grease a loaf pan.
- 2. In a bowl, cream together butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- 3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well, then stir in vanilla.
- 4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and baking powder.
- 5. Add flour mixture to wet ingredients alternately with milk, mixing just until combined.
- 6. In a small bowl, mix chopped apples with brown sugar and cinnamon.
- 7. Pour half the batter into the loaf pan, add half the apple mixture, then repeat layers.
- 8. Gently swirl with a knife.
- 9. Bake for 50โ55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- 10. Cool slightly, then mix powdered sugar and milk and drizzle glaze over bread.
Notes
- Use Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples for best flavor.
- This bread tastes even better the next day once flavors meld.
