Description
A rich and comforting crockpot pierogi casserole featuring layers of cheesy pierogies, smoky kielbasa, and creamy sauce. A no-fuss, hearty family meal perfect for weeknights.
Ingredients
1 (16 oz) package frozen potato and cheese pierogies
1 (14 oz) kielbasa sausage, sliced
1 small onion, chopped
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup chicken broth
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Chopped chives or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. In a medium bowl, mix together sour cream, cream cheese, chicken broth, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
2. Spray the inside of a crockpot with nonstick spray.
3. Layer half of the frozen pierogies in the bottom of the crockpot.
4. Top with half of the sliced kielbasa, chopped onion, and shredded cheese.
5. Spoon half of the cream sauce over the layers.
6. Repeat with remaining pierogies, kielbasa, onion, cheese, and sauce.
7. Cover and cook on low for 3–4 hours or until heated through and bubbly.
8. Garnish with fresh chives or parsley before serving.
Notes
No need to thaw the pierogies first—just layer them frozen.
For a spicy twist, use hot kielbasa or add red pepper flakes.
This dish pairs well with a crisp side salad or steamed green beans.
