Description

Golden, ultra-crispy potato cheese bombs with a fluffy potato center and gooey melted cheese an irresistible appetizer or snack.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups mashed potatoes (cold works best)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs or panko
  • Oil for frying
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • 1. Add mashed potatoes to a bowl and mix with mozzarella, cheddar, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • 2. Scoop about 1 tablespoon of mixture and roll into balls.
  • 3. Set up a dredging station with flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs.
  • 4. Roll each potato ball in flour, dip in egg, then coat in breadcrumbs.
  • 5. Heat oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).
  • 6. Fry potato cheese bombs in batches for 2โ€“3 minutes until golden and crispy.
  • 7. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  • 8. Garnish with parsley and serve hot.

Notes

  • Freeze the potato balls for 15 minutes before frying to prevent cheese leakage.
  • Serve with ranch, marinara, or spicy aioli for dipping.
