Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • 2. In a bowl, whisk together melted butter and brown sugar.
  • 3. Add eggs and vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
  • 4. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • 5. Stir dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined.
  • 6. In a small bowl, mix granulated sugar and cinnamon.
  • 7. Spread half of the batter into the pan, sprinkle with half the cinnamon sugar, then repeat layers.
  • 8. Bake for 22โ€“25 minutes until set in the center.
  • 9. Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth and drizzle over cooled bars.
  • 10. Slice into bars and serve.

Notes

  • For extra gooey bars, slightly underbake and allow to set as they cool.
  • These bars store well in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
