- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp milk
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or chunks
Instructions
- 1. Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- 3. In a large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- 4. Add egg, vanilla extract, and milk. Beat until well combined.
- 5. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until just combined.
- 6. Fold in chocolate chips or chunks.
- 7. Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheet, spacing cookies about 2 inches apart.
- 8. Bake for 9โ11 minutes, until edges are set but centers are still soft.
- 9. Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For extra gooey cookies, slightly underbake and cool on tray.
- Use chopped dark chocolate for deeper flavor.
- Store in an airtight container up to 4 days or freeze for longer storage.
