Description
Classic chocolate chip cookies made without brown sugar crispy edges, chewy centers, and packed with melty chocolate chips.

- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- 1. Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- 3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
- 4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- 5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
- 6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- 7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- 8. Bake for 10โ12 minutes, or until edges are golden and centers are set.
- 9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
- Using only white sugar makes the cookies a bit crispier and lighter in color.
- Chilling the dough for 30 minutes before baking can help prevent spreading.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
