Description
Classic chocolate chip cookies made without brown sugar—crispy edges, chewy centers, and packed with melty chocolate chips.
Ingredients
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.
4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
8. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until edges are golden and centers are set.
9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Using only white sugar makes the cookies a bit crispier and lighter in color.
Chilling the dough for 30 minutes before baking can help prevent spreading.
Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
