Description
A classic carrot cake decoration recipe featuring a smooth cream cheese frosting and charming piped carrot embellishments—perfect for Easter, birthdays, or any festive table.
Ingredients
For the frosting:
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
For decorations:
Orange food coloring
Green food coloring
2 piping bags with small round and leaf tips
Instructions
1. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and butter together until creamy and well combined.
2. Gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt. Beat until smooth and fluffy.
3. Transfer about 1/4 cup of frosting to a small bowl and tint orange. Transfer another small amount to a separate bowl and tint green.
4. Fill piping bags with the colored frosting—orange in a round tip for carrot shapes, green in a leaf tip for carrot tops.
5. Frost the cooled carrot cake with remaining cream cheese frosting using a spatula for a smooth finish.
6. Pipe small carrot shapes across the top or edges of the cake using the orange frosting.
7. Add green leaves to the tops of each carrot.
8. Chill slightly to set frosting before serving.
Notes
Use gel food coloring for vibrant carrot colors.
Practice carrot shapes on parchment before piping directly on the cake.
Decorated cake can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
