Description
This Can You Juice Muscadines in a Crockpot recipe is an easy, hands-off way to extract rich, flavorful juice from fresh muscadine grapes—perfect for sipping, jelly making, or freezing for later.
Ingredients
5 pounds muscadine grapes, washed
1/2 cup water (optional)
Sugar to taste (optional)
Instructions
1. Lightly crush muscadines with a potato masher or your hands to help release juice.
2. Add crushed grapes and water (if using) to a slow cooker.
3. Cover and cook on LOW for 4–6 hours or HIGH for 2–3 hours, until skins have burst and pulp is soft.
4. Mash grapes again gently to release more juice.
5. Pour contents through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a large bowl, pressing to extract juice.
6. Discard skins and seeds. Strain juice again if a smoother consistency is desired.
7. Let juice cool, then store in jars or bottles in the fridge for up to 1 week, or freeze for long-term use.
8. Sweeten if desired before storing.
Notes
Use red or purple muscadines for a deeper color and richer flavor.
For jelly or syrup, you can reduce the juice by simmering it uncovered on the stove.
Juice can also be canned using proper water bath canning procedures.
