A lighter, healthier version of classic Rice Krispie treats made with simple ingredients, less sugar, and no refined syrups.
Ingredients

- 3 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 1/2 cup natural peanut butter or almond butter
- 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup mini dark chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- 1. Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper.
- 2. In a saucepan over low heat, stir peanut butter and honey until smooth and combined.
- 3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and salt.
- 4. Add Rice Krispies cereal and gently fold until evenly coated.
- 5. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
- 6. Press mixture firmly into the prepared pan.
- 7. Refrigerate for 30 minutes until set.
- 8. Slice into squares and serve.
Notes
- Use almond butter for a milder flavor.
- Store treats in the refrigerator for best texture and freshness.
