- 6 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Optional: chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- 1. Preheat oven to 400ยฐF (205ยฐC) and lightly grease a baking dish or line a baking sheet with foil.
- 2. Pat chicken thighs dry with paper towels.
- 3. In a small bowl, mix olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- 4. Rub seasoning mixture evenly over chicken thighs.
- 5. Arrange chicken thighs skin-side up in the baking dish.
- 6. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes.
- 7. Remove from oven and brush generously with barbecue sauce.
- 8. Return to oven and bake for an additional 20โ25 minutes until chicken is cooked through and sauce is caramelized.
- 9. Broil for 2โ3 minutes if desired for extra crispiness.
- 10. Rest for 5 minutes, garnish with parsley if desired, and serve.
Notes
- Use your favorite barbecue sauce, sweet, smoky, or spicy all work well.
- For boneless thighs, reduce cooking time by about 10 minutes.
