- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- 1. Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium heat.
- 2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
- 3. In another bowl, whisk milk and egg until combined.
- 4. Stir wet ingredients into dry ingredients until a thick batter forms.
- 5. Fold sliced onions into the batter until well coated.
- 6. Drop spoonfuls of batter into hot oil, gently flattening slightly.
- 7. Fry for 2โ3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
- 8. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 9. Serve warm.
