Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 cups all-purpose flour
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Gradually add flour and mix until a soft dough forms.
4. Scoop dough into 1-inch balls and place on the prepared baking sheet, flattening slightly with your hand or a fork.
5. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the edges are just lightly golden.
6. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a splash of vanilla or almond extract.
These cookies can be decorated with sprinkles before baking.
